He graduated in Physics (UTL / IST), Master's degree in Telecommunications and a PhD in Computer Engineering from UTL / IST and a second PhD in Industrial Engineering at the University of Minho. His research interests are data science, Text Mining, IoT, AI, ITS, security networks, Blockchain, Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). President of CIS IEEE 2016-2018 INTSYS2020. IEEE senior member since 2015. President of the IEEE PT CIS (2017-2018).
