Susana Peralta has a PhD in Economics from the Université catholique de Louvain, in Belgium.
She specializes in Public Economics and Political Economy, with a special focus on taxation and fiscal federalism. Her work is published in academic journals such as The Economic Journal, Journal of Public Economics and Journal of Public Economic Theory. Obtained funding from the Portuguese Science Foundation as Principal Investigator in several research projects.
Susana teaches or has taught several courses at Nova SBE, including Public Finance, Microeconomics, Ethics and Economic Policy, and Poverty: Concepts and Challenges. She also teaches Economics in Executive Education Programs.
She was academic director of the Master's in Economics, the Master's in Research, and the Doctorate in Economics. Currently she's part of the management committee of the Doctorate in Economics and Finance.
Susana Peralta has three children. She is a regular contributor to the Portuguese newspaper Publico.
