Rui Metelo Marques

He currently works at the MDN as a national expert for the NATO Innovation Fund. He has extensive professional experience in the public and private domains related to information security, cybersecurity and technological innovation. He has a degree in Business Management, a Master's degree in Competitive Intelligence and Information Warfare, an MBA and a postgraduate degree in National Defence Economics and Law, and is certified by the International Institute of Business Analysis in Business Data Analytics.

In his career, he has worked as Pedagogical Director and Cybersecurity Project Coordinator, Author Coordinator for Postgraduate Studies in Cybersecurity (level 7), Member of the working group for the implementation of the Cyber Academy and Innovation Hub and Member of the working group for the design of the guidelines for the National Cyber Defence Strategy. He has coordinated and developed cybersecurity training projects and content. He has also served as an expert on the finance and audit committees of the NATO Communications and Information Organisation (NCIO).

He also founded the Power of Intelligence conference, an event that brought together experts from 44 countries to discuss technological, economic and social advances. In addition to his executive duties, he has taught at various higher education institutions and professional training programmes in the areas of Cybersecurity, Business Intelligence, Information Management, Project Management, Negotiation and Finance.
