Specializing in innovation and competitiveness, he is a columnist in prestigious Portuguese and foreign media outlets and the author of six books, one of which, 'New Competitiveness,' celebrates 40 years since its original publication with an updated edition. With 30 years of experience in managing organizations in both the public and private sectors, he served as President of ESPAP. He holds a degree in Economics and Management from the University of Porto and a master's degree from the Faculty of Law at the University of Coimbra.
