Coordinator of the Innovation and Payment Policies Area of the Payment Systems Department at Banco de Portugal.
Involved in operational and regulatory developments in payments, such as the transposition of the revised Payment Services Directive, the provision of instant payment solutions and other innovative payment services, such as beneficiary confirmation and SPIN, as well as research into the possible issue of the digital euro. Rita is also responsible for the operational coordination of Portugal Finlab, the communication channel between innovative entities in Fintech projects and the financial sector supervisory authorities in Portugal.
Rita joined the Bank of Portugal in 2006 in the Markets and Reserve Management Department, where she worked until 2019 in the Monetary Policy Implementation area. Before joining the Bank of Portugal, she worked as a financial auditor at Deloitte.
Degree's in Economics from the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE) and a master's degree in Monetary and Financial Economics from the Technical University of Lisbon (ISEG).
