José Carlos Nascimento
PhD in Information Technologies and Systems from the University of Minho and a degree in Electrical Engineering (Digital Systems and Computers) from the University of Porto. Throughout his professional career he has held various technical, commercial and management positions in leading national and multinational companies and has held various positions in state institutions and agencies. From 2008 to 2010 he was advisor for Information Technology in the area of Health in the XVII and XVIII Constitutional Governments, and was a member of the first Board of Directors of SPMS - Shared Services of the Ministry of Health, EPE in 2010/2011. From December 2015 to April 2016 he was Assistant to the Minister of Health in the XXI Constitutional Government. He is the author of the book "Information Systems Management and its Professionals", 2006 and co-edited the book "Information Systems in Health" in 2012. He was co-editor of "eSaude - Health Information Systems Magazine", 2013-2015 From 2011 to 2013 he was a member of the "eHealth Stackholders Group", an initiative of the European Commission, representing UEHP (European Union of Private Hospitalization).
