António Portela
Since 2011 António Portela is BIAL´s CEO, a company founded by his great-grandfather, in 1924. António began his career at the pharmaceutical Roche, in the United Kingdom, as a Medical Information Delegate. In 2004 he joined BIAL, as Deputy Marketing Director for Portugal, becoming Head of the International Department in 2007, where he was responsible for BIAL's entry into countries on five continents. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations; Chairman of the General Council of COTEC and Curator of the Foundation of the University of Porto. He holds a degree in Economics from University of Porto and an MBA from Porto Business School.
